Kwara state Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has invited the anti-graft agency, the Economic and financial crimes commission (EFCC) to conduct an independent probe into funds so far received and disbursed to the 16 local government areas of the state between May 2019 and now.

A panel of inquiry comprising members from various backgrounds will also be set up to look into the local government’s funds, the development was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abdulrazaq, Rafiu Ajakaye.

Ajakaye noted that the investigation is necessary following outrageous claimes by some persons that money to the tune of #300M was diverted monthly from the local government accounts.

However, Ajakaye insists that any official found to have diverted or mismanaged public funds under the present administration would be made to account for the same as prescribed under the law.
